Beowulf was a great Geatish warrior known for his strength, courage, bravery, and loyalty. Having these traits made him the perfect example of how a Germanic hero was supposed to be. Beowulf and his men traveled from Denmark where they battled Grendel. After his battle with Grendel, he makes his way to Grendel's mother's underwater cave where he ends her life. He then returns home to Geatland where he serves as king for fifty years. A fire-breathing dragon attacked Beowulf's land and leaves him mortally wounded. After defeating the dragon, he dies from his injuries. |
